Groot Gamsberg, with its magnificent Badlands Wildlife Sanctuary, and the splendid Wilderness of Red Hills and Mt. Barry, is spectacular mountain habitat.
The ranch is situated 126 kilometres SW of Windhoek City. Formerly a cattle ranch, Robin and Pauline Hurt and Dan Mousley have developed it into a superb wildlife sanctuary, of approx. 21,000 acres (8,335 hectares).

Operating out of the Groot Gamsberg Wildlife Sanctuary, hunting takes place in the adjacent ‘Badlands’, a semi-arid ecosystem teeming with plains game, or on other suitable licenced hunting properties or conservancies nearby.

Common species available include Oryx, Kudu, Hartman’s mountain Zebra, Red Hartebeest, Warthog, Duiker, Blesbok, Cheetah, Leopard, Klipspringer and Steinbok. Leopard and Cheetah can only be hunted by special licensing from the Namibian Director of Wildlife. CITES permits are also required for both of these animals.
